Chapter 1506 Tobias’ Words
Nicholas suppressed all the complicated feelings in his heart and promised.
Gregory immediately released a huge sigh of relief.
At this time, there was a knock on the door. When the father and son turned around, they
saw Tessa pushing the door with an inquisitive look in her eye. "Nicholas, Andrew said that
Gregory came to look for you."
As soon as she said that, her eyes landed on the little boy standing beside Nicholas, and
her gaze immediately softened.
"Mommy." Gregory trotted over and hugged her lovingly.
Tessa gently ruffled his black hair and said softly, "It's getting late. Why don't I help you
get washed up for the night?"
"Yay!"
He nodded profusely.
Later, when Nicholas returned to the room, he found that his wife was still wide awake. He
knew why she couldn't go to sleep, and his eyes were filled with helpless heartache.
"Didn't I tell you to sleep earlier? Why are you still awake?"
"I have something to ask you."

Tessa didn't beat around the bush. "What were you and Gregory discussing before I came
in earlier?"
When he saw his wife's worried expression, he stayed silent momentarily before telling her
the truth. In the end, he sighed. "I didn't expect Grandpa to tell Gregory such things. It's
no wonder he had never looked for his mother after all this time."
Tessa felt a little unjust and sad after hearing such a tale.
"Actually, Old Master Sawyer is right in saying that," she murmured softly.
After all, when she was pregnant with Gregory, to her, it was indeed just a task that
needed to be completed so Remus would fork out the money in order to treat her brother.
Nicholas noticed that his wife's mind was elsewhere and instantly knew that her mind was
running wild once more.
"Stop overthinking things. Didn't you also say that a car accident happened when it was
almost time for you to go into labor? Once you woke up, you learned that the child was
gone. It's not your fault."
Nicholas tried every means to comfort Tessa.
At the end of the conversation, he said, "Also, Grandpa probably said those nasty things
because he was afraid that Gregory would look for his mother and wouldn't be able to deal
with your absence. He definitely didn't expect that we would meet again after so long and
get married."
Tessa felt the burden on her shoulders lightening after hearing his remarks.
Nonetheless, she snuggled into his arms and thought about the matter carefully before
telling him about her plan.
"Here's what I plan to do. Let's not rush things. We'll explain the misunderstanding to
Gregory. This way, when we reveal the truth, it should be easier for him to accept it."
"Okay. You can do whatever you want. Just keep in mind that if things don't work out, I'm
always here in your corner."
Nicholas was naturally fully supportive of any decision she made.
Then, the two talked a while more before falling asleep in each other's embrace.
…
The next day, the family of four had breakfast together.
Nicholas eventually left for work while Tessa sent Gregory to school.
On the way there, the mother and son had a fun chat, and none of them brought up that
sensitive topic.
It wasn't until the car stopped at the school gate and Gregory had gotten out of the
vehicle that he stood by the gate and looked at Tessa solemnly.
"Mommy, no matter what people say, don't believe them. You are my only mother."
Tessa was momentarily stunned by the sudden shift in his mood before she quickly

by his words.
She looked at him tenderly and said with a smile, "I know. Hurry to class now. Don't be
late."
Gregory nodded before turning around and dashing into the school.
Tessa watched his back until he disappeared before telling the driver to send her home.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she entered the living room, she saw her parents-in-law sitting
on the couch, playing with Gordon.
"Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?' She greeted them with a smile and walked over.
Stefania and Tobias did not respond immediately but instead instructed Andrew to take
Gordon away.
When Tessa saw this, the smile on her face faded a little.
She knew that her parents-in-law had something important to say this time. With that
thought in mind, she cautiously asked, "Did something happen?"
"I heard from Gregory that his biological mother came knocking at the door and found
you. Why didn't you tell us about this?" Stefania cut to the chase and asked.
Tobias, who was sitting beside her, also spoke up in a deep voice, "What did that woman
tell you? Where is she now?"
