Chapter 751 When Have I Ever Lied to You?
Tessa believed this was something they had to face together and not just Nicholas. She wanted to bear
the responsibility with him, but every time she wanted to go out, Timothy would stop her, and this time
was no exception either.

Timothy knew from the looks of his distressed sister that they could forget about sleeping if he didn’t
manage to dissuade her.
“Tess, you should have faith in Nicholas. Since he has decided to take care of it himself, everything will
be fine.” He analyzed with well-founded reasoning as he took Tessa to the couch.
If anything, he had a good idea why Nicholas had them come back here.
It was probably because his family didn’t quite approve of their relationship. After all, the gap between
them was far too great.

stopping his sister from going.
After all, he didn’t want his dear sister to suffer any grievances.
However, Tessa knew none of this.
“I know I should trust Nicholas,” she said with glumness, “but I just can’t help feeling worried.”
Just as Timothy wanted to talk some sense into Tessa, she began blaming herself. “It’s all my fault.
Even after all this while, I still haven’t made a name for myself overseas. Had I at least achieved
something, Nicholas’s family wouldn’t put him in such a difficult position.”
Timothy didn’t like how his sister put things into perspective, and it only fed his guilt. “If that’s how you
think, then it’s not your fault at all. If anything, the blame’s on me. If I hadn’t kept you from your
ambition, you’d have been a world-renowned violinist by now.”
Timothy’s words stumped Tessa for a second, and she hurriedly tried to convince him otherwise when
she registered his thoughts. “How can it be your fault?”
“If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have had to defer for one year or even give up your chance to study
abroad.”
At that, indescribable self-reproach enveloped his face, and his conviction also strengthened at the
same time. “At the end of the day, I’m just too weak. Nonetheless, I’ll work harder and push our family
up into the elites. That way, you can stand tall and proud when you face the Sawyers.”
Tessa was touched to see her brother in high morale, but she didn’t want to burden him either.
“It’s good that you’re committed, but I don’t want to be the reason behind it. You have your own
purpose in life. Besides, this issue is between me and Nicholas. How can I impose it on you?”
Timothy wanted to speak up at that, but Tessa interrupted him before he could say anything. “Don’t
overthink it. Nicholas doesn’t care if our family’s rich or not.”
“Having said that, I don’t want people to think you’ve married way above your league,” Timothy
mumbled. “No matter what anyone else thinks, you deserve the best in the world.”

Timothy talked a little more with Tessa after seeing the smile on her face, and when he saw that she
was no longer persistent, he tried convincing her to go to bed. “It’s getting really late. You should go to
bed. I’m sure Nicholas will bring good news by tomorrow. Besides, my little niece needs her beauty
sleep even if you don’t. I can’t have you abusing her, can I?”
Tessa thought he was right. She was carrying a life inside of her now, so she couldn’t be reckless.
Just as she was about to head into her room, her ringtone sounded. Seeing it was Nicholas, she
answered the video call in two shakes. “Nicholas, how did it go?”
The thing she was most worried about was that his family would make things difficult for him.
Nicholas smiled upon seeing her worried face. “Everything’s naturally okay if I handle it.”
“Really?” Tessa was dubious, for she feared that Nicholas was only lying to her because he didn’t want
her to worry.
Nicholas chuckled in response. “When have I ever lied to you?”
She finally eased upon hearing that. Then, she couldn’t help but ask, “Well, did your family say
anything?”
