Chapter 509
Ignoring everyone’s gazes, Caroline looked at Marietta.
Earlier, Marietta had constantly been on the move, so Caroline hadn’t had the chance to look at her
properly. But now she finally had the opportunity to do so.
That sense of familiarity between them became stronger when Marietta met Caroline’s gaze. She
felt a sense of tenderness as she looked at Caroline.
She unknowingly softened her tone. “What’s your name, miss?”
Caroline returned to her senses. “Caroline Evans.”
For some reason, Marietta felt a tinge of disappointment when she heard her name. But soon, she
asked kindly, “Why did you change my script?”
Caroline explained, “Because I think Grace wouldn’t have been unphased when she found out that
her mother had been relentlessly looking for her all these years.”

“Y–you think Grace wouldn’t hate her mother?”
“I’m not too sure about that.”
Caroline said, “But as her daughter, Grace wouldn’t be filled with hatred unless you established
her as a ruthless and unrighteous person.
“But according to your profile of her character, Grace is a caring and righteous person. Since that’s
the case, there’s no way she wouldn’t be moved.”
Marietta slowly stood up, her eyes filled with tears. “You did a perfect job revising the script! I
finally know what’s wrong with it!”
This script was one of her earlier works. Back then, her daughter had been abducted. In her grief,
she had turned to writing to relieve her sorrow.
Since she had written this script in her early, inexperienced days, she knew there was a problem
with the script, but she hadn’t been able to change it.
Since her skills in writing had vastly improved over the years, she initially thought she could
revise the script with her current expertise.

However, she still hadn’t been able to figure out how to change the script, even after Collins Group
took her notebook and requested to make an adaptation.
Now, Caroline’s words were like a wake–up call. Although this story was about Grace, she
inevitably thought of her daughter when she wrote about Grace and her mother reuniting.
At that moment, she wasn’t writing about Grace anymore. Instead, she was projecting her own
emotions into her writing.
Therefore, she had felt that Grace would be resentful when she saw her mother because she had
written this story from a mother’s perspective.
She had forgotten that she had to write the story from the perspective of a daughter like Grace.

“I’m truly grateful to you for pointing out the flaws in my writing!”
The sight shocked everyone present. A big shot in the drama industry actually expressed her
gratitude to a nobody! What an inconceivable occurrence!
Behind the stage, Daphne almost bit her tongue in shock!
Caroline was such a lucky brat. She won a playwright’s favor by changing her script!
Daphne clenched her fists in anger.
Amid everyone’s surprise, Dolly, who was sitting on the judge’s bench, looked at Caroline in panic.
She recognized Caroline when Marietta had asked for her name.
She had initially thought she could watch Marietta teach an ignorant fool a lesson, but she had
never expected…
Dolly hurriedly lowered her head, pretending not to recognize Caroline.
