“Let's hurry, then.” Joyce rose to her feet. “There might be some hope if we apologize. I
know it's wishful thinking, but we should at least try. And if he doesn't accept our apology
and insists on suing Dad, we can ask him what he wants in exchange for letting him off.”
“What if he wants the child inside you?” Caitlin glanced at her daughter's belly.
Joyce's pupils dilated as her face paled slightly. Her mother's words sent her into such a
shock that she remained silent for a long time.
Stanley had come all the way here precisely to make her abort the child.
Now that he had the perfect opportunity, he surely wouldn't let go of it.

Truthfully, she had already forgotten about Stanley and fallen out of love with him, so the
baby didn't matter as much to her anymore.
However, she adored it so much before forgetting the man that she had specifically
written herself that letter about bringing the child into this world and raising it even if she
were to lose all her memories of him.
Hence, she really didn't want to lose this child.
Who knew how hurt she would be if she were to recover her memories of Stanley but no
longer have their child.
Unfortunately, the problem now was her father facing jail term.
In other words, the woman was now caught between a rock and a hard place.
She couldn't abandon her child to save her father.
At the same time, she couldn't bring herself to keep the child while forsaking Jonathan.
Thus, she really didn't know what to do now.
Caitlin understood her daughter well enough to know what she was thinking just from
looking at her.
“There, there. Don't think about it for now,” she consoled her despite feeling helpless. “I
know what's on your mind, but don't worry. I won't let you go through any of that.”
“Mom?” Joyce turned to her mother in confusion. She didn't understand what the latter
meant.
Caitlin merely smiled and patted Joyce on the back. “Come, let's head over to the hospital.

child.”
If Stanley hates us that much and wants us dead, so be it. I'll give up my life. If my death
will allow him to let Joyce and Jon off, then I'll do what he wants.
Of course, she couldn't tell Joyce and Jonathan about this.
Otherwise, not only would they be against it, but Jonathan might even ask to take her
place instead.
