Chapter 335
The rain was so heavy that she couldn't even open her eyes.
Alyssa wiped the rain off her face and quietly knelt down in front of the grave with the flowers in her
arms. She placed the flowers in front of the tombstone.
She looked at the tombstone for a while and then said softly, "Mom, I am Alyssa. I have been with
Emmett for a long time. I am very sorry that I only came to see you today."
After she finished speaking, she kowtowed three times in front of the tomb.
Emmett lowered his head and watched her kowtow three times. Without saying anything, he took off
his suit jacket and covered her head. He then pulled her up and asked her with a calm expression,
"How did you find this place?"
He had never told her about this place before, so she should not be able to find it.
Alyssa pointed at Xavier who just ran over and was panting. "He brought me here."
Emmett pulled the coat over Alyssa's head again. After making sure that the coat could protect her
from the rain so she could open her eyes, he reached out to wipe the rain off her face.
"Alyssa, I seriously suspect that you were a sports student before. How can you run so fast?" Xavier
held the umbrella with one hand and placed the other on his waist as he panted and asked.
He walked over and gave the umbrella to Emmett. He walked to the tomb and bowed before turning
around. "When you came to see your mother, why didn’t you tell Alyssa? She was so worried about
you that she looked for you everywhere."
When Emmett heard that, he lowered his head and looked at Alyssa.
He held the umbrella over Alyssa's head and reached out to pull down the coat covering her head and
put it on her body. He helped her tidy up the coat.
Alyssa was wearing a white shirt. After being soaked by the rain, her clothes became transparent.
Xavier saw this and quickly said, "You guys must have something to say. I will go down the mountain
first."
Xavier left, leaving only Emmett and Alyssa alone.
Only then did Alyssa have the chance to raise her head and carefully size up Emmett.
Emmett looked no different from usual. Other than being drenched by the rain, there was nothing
wrong with him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAlyssa thought for a moment. When the accident happened that year, it was winter, not summer. So
today could not be Emmett's mother's death day.
Something must have provoked Emmett.
That was why he came here alone without informing anyone.
After a while, Emmett's hoarse voice rang out. "Originally, I was planning to bring you and Angela to
visit my mother together when you would come back from Sydney. But Angela disappeared. I'm afraid
that she will be sad if she finds out."
His tone was low and his eyes were lowered. His entire body exuded a depressing and gloomy aura.
Alyssa did not know what to say for a moment. There were no words in the world that could comfort
him at this moment. So she could only enter his embrace and give him a hug.
Emmett's hand gently pressed her shoulder and very quickly pushed her away. He held her hand and
walked in front of the tomb. His tone was very gentle. "Mom, this is my wife, Alyssa. We have a little
daughter. Her name is Angela. We will bring her to see you in the future."
This was clearly a very simple and emotionless sentence, but Alyssa felt the urge to cry when she
heard it.
She turned her head to the side and silently wiped her eyes.
After Emmett finished speaking, he wrapped his arms around Alyssa's shoulders and said, "Let's go."
After they went down the mountain and sat in the car, Alyssa called Frank and said that she had found
Emmett. She reassured him.
Knowing that Emmett was safe and sound, Frank let out a long sigh of relief.
After Alyssa hung up the phone, she wanted to persuade Emmett. She wanted him that he should
always tell Frank no matter where he went next time.
However, seeing Emmett's tired eyes, she swallowed back the words that were about to come out of
her mouth.
He still remembered to send her a text message. It was already good enough.
After they went back to the city and dropped Xavier in front of D-Fronts Media, they went straight to
Emmett's apartment.
Emmett went into the bathroom without saying a word to put some hot water in. Alyssa stood by the
door of the bathroom and looked at him silently.
Emmett seemed to have sensed something. He turned his head and saw her. He said, "Come here."
After Alyssa went over, he began to strip her clothes.
"I will do it myself." Alyssa quickly reached out and hugged herself.
Emmett raised his eyebrows and said seriously, "You can take it off yourself. But you are not as fast as
me."
Alyssa was choked by his words.
She just forgot that he had a degree in shamelessness.
Emmett took this opportunity to help her take off her clothes in a few moments and threw her into the
bathtub.
Alyssa secretly thought that his speed was indeed faster than hers.
Emmett himself changed into his bathrobe and went out of the bathroom.
Alyssa quickly finished her bath. When she put on her clothes and went out, she heard some
movement coming from the kitchen.
When she entered the kitchen, she saw Emmett standing in front of kitchen counter and looking at his
phone while putting something into the soup pot.
"What are you cooking?" Alyssa walked over curiously.
Emmett, the Young Master of Lawrence Family, let along cooking something, he never even visited to
the kitchen in normal days. So Alyssa was naturally curious about what this arrogant Young Master
doing right now.
Emmett did not look back, when he heard her question. He looked at his phone seriously. "Ginger
soup."
Alyssa turned her head to look at the phone and found that he was searching online for the cooking
method of Ginger soup.
"Hurry up and take a hot bath. I will cook it." She did not believe that Emmett could cook this.
Emmett grabbed her collar and pulled her back. He said in a low voice, "Are you looking down on me? I
will do it."
Alyssa was speechless.
Since Emmett insisted, Alyssa had no choice but to watch him cook.
Maybe it was because he was really smart. Even if he had never cooked before, he made ginger soup
according to the online method. The taste was very normal.
Alyssa took a sip and raised her head. She saw Emmett staring at her and asked her, "How do you like
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmit?"
"It tastes good." Alyssa nodded and took another sip.
Emmett stroked her head and said. "Drink more. I'm going to take a shower."
Seeing Emmett enter the bathroom, Alyssa stuck out her tongue and kept slapping her tongue.
The ginger soup was not bad indeed, but it was too spicy.
No matter what, it was cooked by Emmett. Furthermore, he cooked for her for the first time. So Alyssa
still drank a big bowl of soup in the end.
However, after drinking this big bowl, Alyssa did not want to drink any ginger soup for the rest of her
life.
After Emmett finished his bath and came out, he saw Alyssa already holding a hair dryer and standing
at the bathroom door.
Emmett raised his eyebrows and asked. "What do you want to do?"
"I'll help you blow your hair." Alyssa waved the hair dryer in her hand and smiled gently.
Emmett coldly refused, "No need. Go and take a rest."
What?
Alyssa was stunned. She was just drenched in the rain and it was not like she had never been wet
before. She would not be so weak.
Alyssa directly pulled him to the living room and pressed him to sit on the sofa, saying. "I will blow your
hair dry. If you don't blow it, you will catch a cold."
Emmett did not refuse her this time.
Alyssa tested the temperature with her hand and started to blow his hair.
Feeling Emmett's whole body relax, she asked him, "Why did you suddenly want to go to the cemetery
today?"
Emmett said leisurely, "Do I need to choose a day, if I want to see my mom?"
Alyssa choked on his words and said, "That's not what I meant."
Emmett's mouth was as tight as concrete. No one could get any information from him if he was
unwilling.
She thought that she could break his psychological barrier with her gentle power. But she failed
brutally.
She almost forgot. Emmett was not an ordinary person to begin with.
Alyssa thought of how he stood alone in front of the tomb and she felt sad in her heart. She sighed and
said, "I was just worried about you. Frank said that you smoked a whole pack of cigarettes today."
