V Theodore sat alone in the hall, a solitary figure in the emptiness.

When Rebecca was alive, the place was filled with laughter and cheer, but now it was just him.

He sat desolately on the carpet, clutching his head. His face was pale. A complex web of emotions surged within him, making it hard for him to breathe.

With trembling hands, Theodore took out his phone from his pocket and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly.

"Hello, Theodore." It was Aurora's voice.

However, Theodore didn't say a word.

Aurora sounded concerned.

"What's wrong? Is something the matter? Theo, are you okay? Theo, if you have something on your mind, you can tell me. I'll listen. Please don't stay silent, alright? You calledfor a reason. Tellwhat's going on. Don't makeworry, okay?" Aurora's voice began to crack with emotion.

"Theo, say something! Are you alright?" "Aurora, I'll have someone pick you up. Cover," Theodore finally said.

"You want to see me?" Aurora asked, a burst of joy lighting up her heart. "I'll cright away. I can grab a cab; you don't need to send anyone." She was eager to see Theodore as soon as possible.

Theodore lowered his gaze and said calmly, "Alright then. I'm at my grandma's place." With that, he hung up the phone.

Aurora froze in place.

Why would Theodore do this? She had expected him to insist on sending someone to pick her up. Did he really feel at ease letting her calone so late at night? Aurora couldn't dwell on it for long. She grabbed her coat and prepared to leave.

Angie overheard the call and wanted to go with her.

Aurora refused. This was a late-night visit Theodore had requested. How could she bring Angie along to act as a third wheel? Aurora hailed a cab and arrived at Rebecca's house.

The hall was pitch black when she entered. She followed the faint light along the corridor, feeling a little uneasy.

"Theo, are you inside?" she called out.

"I'm here." Theodore's voice drifted from the darkness.

At that moment, the lights suddenly turned on, illuminating the grand hall.

Aurora saw Theodore sitting on the floor. She quickly ran over. "Theo, why are you sitting here? Get up." She crouched down and held onto his arm, trying to help him stand, but Theodore didn't move.

"Theo, what's wrong?" Aurora asked, her voice laced with fear. "Pleasee say something. I call this.

el way what do you need to tell me?" Content belongs to en.kikistoriesIMS She thought to herself that perhaps he was in too much pain and just wanted her company.

Theodore, his pale face turned toward her, said, "Aurora, what exactly happened earlier today? Tellthe truth, please." Aurora's heart skipped a beat.

Forcing herself to remain calm, she replied, "Theo, what happened today was all a misunderstanding. Rosalie is just too upset. Maybe she dislikesand Angie, so she misunderstood our intentions." Content belongs to en.kikistories"Is that so? Did she really misunderstand?" "Yes," Aurora nodded. "That's right, Theo. Think about it-what reason would Angie and I have to harm your grandmother? We have no motive at all. Even if you doubt our character, harming her would be a disaster for us. If we were caught, it would be over for us. Why would we do such a thing?" Content belongs to en.kikistories"Indeed." Theodore smiled bitterly. "There's a motive for every action someone takes. You two have none. But..." Theodore suddenly grabbed Aurora's hand. "Did Rose really hear it wrong?"
