She sighed, and got on her feet, then walked to Leah. "Mummy, couldn't I stay with daddy and Gideon instead?" she looked at her mum hopefully, but Leah shook her head.

"No, we need you, darling. Nana needs us. Daddy can stay with Gideon, and when they are ready, they can find us."

She looked at Alice, who nodded, then looked atdeep in the eye, Her eyes mirrored her emotions, and I could tell she could have killedthen. They turned around and left the room.

I walked closer and stood at the window opposite Seth. He turned his head away, apparently did Ni to talk.
