It went without a saying Emma saw Alice’s rage, but it wasn’t a part of her concern. She walked toward

them, pretending nothing had happened and sat opposite them before asking, “What brought you two

here?”

Jared answered her with a gentle tone, “Here’s the thing. I know what Arianna did, and I think she

really went overboard.”

Hearing that, Emma just pressed her lips together and kept quiet, waiting for him to continue.

Then, he said, “We’re thinking that since she was your sister-in-law, can you give her a chance to turn

over a new leaf for old times’ sake?” After saying that, he looked at her without a word. Although it

looked like he was negotiating with her, the pressure and mere warning that he gave out from his gaze

were daunting.

Calmly, Emma looked into his eyes for a few seconds and then started chuckling.

She was actually thinking about whether to continue to sue Arianna or not if Jared’s and Alice’s

If they really started arguing in front of Emma, it would just let her have a good laugh and make her

even more gloated.

Ignoring Alice, Emma stood up from the couch slowly and told Alice calmly, “This is my house. Who are

you to say no?”

When Alice heard that, she was so enraged that she nearly fainted, just as she had previously after

getting provoked by her.
