Chapter 51 As soon as the meeting ended, Joseph went to a quiet place to call Crystal.

Once Crystal answered the call, Joseph said happily, “Superstar Crystal, it seemed that your

persuasion worked pretty well.”

Crystal was confused. “What do you mean:”

Joseph said, “We had another meeting earlier and the script was changed according to your

suggestion. The king is going to end up with Artemis.”

She was unsatisfied with the initial storyline and wanted Trevor to modify the script. However, Trevor

rejected her request, so she could only contact Joseph and ask him to find ways to suggest a plot

change.

But then, the plot was changed in today‘s meeting before Joseph even took action. That was why he

thought Crystal had persuaded Trevor to make the changes.

She was surprised and delighted on the other end of the call. “The king is going to end up with

Artemis?”

In response to her question, Joseph replied, “Yeah. Isn‘t that what you wanted?”

Crystal raised her hand 10 cover her mouth from excitement. She was speechless for a moment due to

her happiness.

She thought that Trevor did not care about her feelings at all. It turned out that he still fulfilled her

request even though he rejected her verbally.

Crystal thought that Trevor changed the storyline because of her, but little did she know that Trevor

only did it because of the grudges he held against Emma. He wanted to make things difficult for Emma,

and the plot change was merely a coincidence.

Crystal calmed herself down before she asked again, “What‘s the ending for the queen consort after

the change?”

Joseph described the queen consort‘s life after the king had divorced her. However, what he said

angered Crystal. “What? Her life after the divorce is amazing?”

Every time she remembered that Emma was the scriptwriter of this drama, she could not help but

imagine the two of them as the characters in the script. “Why didn‘t she die a miserable death? Why

didn‘t she die pathetically because she lost everything after the divorce?”

The king‘s first love had a miserable death in the initial storyline. How did the queen consort have an

exciting life instead of having the same ending as the life of the king‘s first love?Emma thinks too highly

of herself!

Crystal could not accept the change, and her voice trembled with anger when she

spoke.

Joseph did not dare to offend her, so he could only try to rectify the situation and said, “This… is a

positive message that shows women can be independent and strong by themselves too, don‘t you

think?”

Disapprovingly, she replied, “Can‘t this be changed? Why does the queen consort still have so many

scenes after the divorce? Can‘t she just die right away?”

Joseph said again, “Mr. Bateson, Wesley, and the others liked the new version of the storyline because

of the queen consort‘s independence and exciting life after the divorce.”

He did not say that he liked this part of the plot either.

“I don‘t care!” She was going crazy. “You must change the ending! I want the queen consort to have a

miserable dcath!”

That was a difficult request for Joseph. “About this,”

Crystal interrupted him, “It‘s either that or you kick Emma out from the team! Don‘t let her be in charge

of this script. There are so many scriptwriters out there, and any of them would do better than Emma.”

If the storyline could not be changed, then Emma must leave the production team.

Due to the hatred Crystal harbored for Emma, she could not accept that the latter wrote every dialogue

toward the second half of the drama.

Emma was determined not to want anything material from the divorce back then. Everything seemed to

be going well, making Crystal feel like Emma was not satisfied with that and that Emma was trying to

humiliate her through the script.

Joseph sighed and said, “Emma has the support of Wesley. I don‘t think he will approve my request to

kick her out even if I bring the matter up.”

Crystal sneered when she heard that. “Why do you need his approval? Why can‘t you force Emma to

leave the team by herself?“|

“Get a few men to harass her and scare her, or you can get someone to make up some slur about her.

She‘s not going to be able to stand that kind of treatment and will choose to leave on her own,” Crystal

said with cruel suggestions.

Emma is someone who can stand her ground. She wouldn‘t be able to stand such harsh treatments.

She divorced Trevor back then because Arianna and Alice bullied her too much.

She believed that Emma would be the same in the workplace as well.

Joseph could only do as Crystal said. “Fine. There‘s an assistant director who loves hitting on girls. I‘ll

talk to him about this.” !

Crystal was satisfied with Joseph‘s answer and found that it was a great time to offer him some

benefits. “Director Hayward, I‘ll have you on board to shoot all of Bateson Group‘s major productions in

the future.”

That was exactly what he wanted. When he heard that, he hung up in satisfaction.

Everyone in Jonestown knew Crystal would soon be part of the Bateson Family. When she became the

head lady of the Bateson Family, Joseph trusted that his team‘s future would be set.

Later in the evening, Cerys went to dinner with Susanna, who had extended an invitation to her.

However, she did not expect that they would be having their meal at Susanna‘s house and that Emma

would cook for them.

When Cerys arrived, she rang the doorbell. It was Susanna who came to get the door for her. Emma

was busy in the kitchen, and the place was filled with the delicious smell of food.

Susanna was born friendly. She held Cerys‘ arin and said, “Hey, we‘re not going to have as much fun if

we ate outside because, you know, the nature of iny job is different. You won‘t mind having dinner at

my place, would you?”

Waving her hand, Cerys said, “Not at all. It‘s more comfortable to eat at home anyway.”

Right now, Susanna was a big shot in show business. On top of that, the drama she starred in with

Adam was currently showing on the screens. Cerys understood why Susanna would not want to be in

the public‘s eye now.

If they were to eat in a restaurant, Susanna would have to be mindful of her actions and image all the

time. She had to sit in a proper manner, talk in a soft voice, and would not be able to drink as much as

she wanted. If the paparazzi were to capture a picture of her doing such acts, she would be trending on

social media.

With a smile on her face, Susanna said, “Thanks for understanding.”

She lived in a bungalow, and it was a place with privacy for its owners.

There was a floor-to–ceiling window on the first floor. Once dinner was ready, the three ladies sat at the

dining table by the window, eating their food and enjoying

their wine.

Cerys took a photo of the delicious food on the table. After giving it some thought, she secretly sent the

pictures to Trevor, who was still resting in the hospital.

‘Mr. Bateson, I‘m having dinner with Emma and Susanna at Susanna‘s house. Emma cooked dinner for

us.

In fact, Cerys was not one to act impulsively back then. However, she did not know why she had a

strong urge to send them to her boss.

Maybe it was because she was certain that Trevor missed Emma‘s cooking as much as she did.

In the past, Emma would always prepare lunch for Trevor, not forgetting to prepare two extra sets for

Cerys and Cyrus too. That was how Cerys came to learn that Emma was a good cook.

When Trevor saw the photos Cerys sent him, he suddenly became hungry. He also wanted to have a

taste of Emma‘s cooking, especially now that he had no appetite because he was sick; he missed her

cooking even more.

He had a great appetite and never had gastric in the few years that Emma cooked for

him.

Amidst his thoughts, Cerys sent him a text again. ‘Mr. Bateson, Susanna said that President Zurich is

interested in Emma. I never realized that.

Before Trevor could reply, a text from her came in again. ‘Mr. Bateson, President Zurich came over and

is having dinner with us. It turns out that he lives in the same neighborhood as Susanna!

After reading the final sentence, Trevor‘s face immediately became gloomy. He did not mind that Cerys

and Susanna were enjoying the food that Emma made. They were all girls, after all.
