Chapter 1227
After Ellinor finished speaking, she breezed past them and headed for the bathroom.
Marissa Blanchet looked worried. She tapped Veronica lightly. “Veronica, go with Ellinor. She’s pregnant now, so if
she needs a hand, make sure to help her out.”
Veronica nodded and hurried after her.
The moment Ellinor stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Veronica with her arms folded, looking at her seriously.
She ignored her and went to wash her hands.

Ellinor squeezed some soap into her palm, lathered it up, and answered casually, “Why do you care about where
I’ve been?”
Veronica frowned. “It is my business! You’re my brother’s wife; how can you just up and leave?”
Ellinor chuckled, “You’ve got it mixed up. I’m not. Didn’t your brother’s wife just come with you?”
Veronica was taken aback, and then it clicked. “You mean Sophia? She’s not…”
“Veronica!”
A clear female voice interrupted Veronica.
It was Sophia, walking in with a smile.
Veronica didn’t like Sophia, so she didn’t bother to hide her displeasure. “What do you want?”
Sophia replied with a smile. “Granny asked me to fetch you.”
Veronica blinked. “Granny wants me? What’s up? Didn’t she just ask me to accompany Ellinor to the bathroom?”
“You have Granny’s bag; it has her medicine in it.”
Veronica looked down, and sure enough, she was carrying Marissa’s purse.
Marissa must’ve gotten too excited after seeing Ellinor and needed to take some medicine to calm her nerves.
So Veronica didn’t dare delay. “I’ll get her medicine to her right away!”
After watching Veronica leave, Sophia took out a lipstick from her bag, walked to the mirror next to Ellinor, and
started to touch up her makeup.

As she applied her lipstick, she glanced at Ellinor through the mirror while smiling brightly. “You’re just as gorgeous
as the rumors say, even without makeup. You changed your look yesterday, so why are you showing your true
colors today?”
Ellinor rinsed off the soap from her hands, turned off the tap, and dried her hands leisurely. “Theo already spotted
me, so there’s no point in disguising myself.”
Sophia capped her lipstick. “Ms. Mendoza, you seemed rather reluctant to be found by Theo, huh?”
Ellinor raised an eyebrow. “Ms. Sophia, I guess you’d rather I wasn’t found. But you can rest easy; I have no interest
in him now, and I won’t threaten your position.”
Sophia laughed and shook her head. “No, I’d love to see you two reunite. Ms. Mendoza, I’m glad to meet you!”
Ellinor squinted slightly, trying to figure out if Sophia was playing some other game.
