Chapter 1649 Shopping
That was out of Cindy’s control. So we’ll have to share the room tonight too. Is he really going to sleep on the floor
again? It’d be hard to watch for her.
Ian didn’t want to talk about it, so he picked his spoon up. “Dig in. If you have nothing to do, you can watch some TV
later. I’ll go back in to catch some sleep.”
Cindy nodded quickly. “Sure. I don’t have much to do. You go get some sleep.” Wow. It must have been awful for
him because he looks so tired.
Ian didn’t have much appetite, so he only had a few bites. After Cindy put her spoon down, so did he.
Cindy noticed that his bowl was still full, but she didn’t tell him to finish it, since she knew he was exhausted. After
she cleared the table, Ian went back to his room.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtOnce he closed the door, Aurora chuckled.
Cindy put the dishes into the dishwasher and came out of the kitchen. “I have a feeling you were having fun
watching us.”
Aurora nodded. “Obviously. But honestly, you were cruel. You could have let him on the bed, but instead, he had to
sleep on the floor the whole night. I can’t believe it.”
Cindy pursed her lips but said calmly, “Why not? You don’t care about him, and you’re his mother, so why should I?”
Aurora pouted. “I’m not the one who’s staying with him for life, so I’m used to it. He chose this, so whatever
happens, it’s all on him. If his girlfriend doesn’t care about him, that’s all on him too, not me.”
Wow, she’s getting really good at arguing. Cindy noticed she couldn’t argue with that, so she gave up and watched
TV with Aurora. However, she could see that neither of them cared about the show. Since it was a sunny day, Cindy
proposed, “Why don’t we have a little stroll? You don’t get good weather like this every day.”
Aurora looked outside the window and stood up. “Sure. I’ll get changed. Give me a minute.”
Aurora had always been an impeccable woman with a great taste for aesthetics. Naturally, she’d always dress
herself up before going out. About fifteen minutes later, Aurora changed into a new set of clothes and had light
makeup on. Cindy was more casual, so she only washed her face and tied her hair into a ponytail. Then, they
happily went downstairs.
Their neighborhood had plenty of places to stroll around, but still they chose to go further away. It wasn’t every day
they had a day off like this, so of course they’d take the time to wind down. Since they didn’t know much about the
city, they opted to walk instead of hailing a ride so they could know more about the place they lived in.
It was a bustling city with many shops built on the sidewalk. The ladies would window shop at each and every one
they came across, but Aurora was particularly insistent on taking Cindy in when they came across a boutique. She
wanted Cindy to get a dress no matter what.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmCindy seldom wore dresses since that would hinder her movements when she was working. Most of the time, she
went with casual attire, and that was how she liked it. However, Aurora said she should act more like a girl. In the
end, she picked two dresses for Cindy and told her to try them on.
The sales assistant served them with a smile. Thinking they were mother and daughter, she kept praising Cindy,
saying that the dresses would fit her perfectly.
Cindy didn’t like it when sales assistants were too passionate. She didn’t know how everyone else felt, but she did
know it was awkward for her.
Aurora didn’t care. She pushed Cindy into the fitting room and handed the dresses to her. “Just try them on. You
should have a style change.”
Cindy took the dresses and went into the fitting room. For some reason, it made her think about Naomi. They were
of the same age, but the last time Cindy saw her, she had a feeling the gap between them was widening. Naomi
looked a lot more fashionable than she used to be, while she still looked the same as she was. Not only did she look
like a mere assistant when she was with Ian, but now, she looked like an assistant when Naomi was around too.
