Chapter 1671 No One’s Home
Aurora emphasized the words ‘other people’—she even nodded as she spoke. Upon realizing this, Ian shot her a
side glare as he hastened his footsteps toward their house. “Is that so? I never knew that she enjoyed badminton so
much.”
Ian’s footsteps were so quick that Aurora had to jog a little to catch up with him. Despite this, she continued to
ramble. “I guess it depends on who she’s playing badminton with. That guy’s so nice to Cindy! He bought her a
racket, and she even accepted his gift. You know how Cindy’s like—she wouldn’t have accepted the gift if she had a
bad impression of the guy. So, I’m not surprised that she agreed to play badminton with this guy. It seems like they
enjoy each other’s company.”
Ian wasn’t an idiot—he could tell that Aurora was implying something else. However, he still felt somewhat uneasy
upon hearing what she said. Mom’s right. Cindy’s the sort of person who rarely accepts a gift no matter how

continue playing badminton with her. If she accepted the gift, it also means that she agreed to the idea of more
badminton games with him.
Ian strode into their condominium block before entering the elevator. Aurora walked beside him and continued
talking. “I bet they are still at the park nearby. When I last heard that guy’s voice message to Cindy, he mentioned
that he’d wait for her there.”
“I guess,” Ian muttered as he pressed the button to shut the elevator doors. It was evident that he no longer
wanted to stay on that topic. After licking her lips and contemplating for a short while, Aurora decided to drop it as
well. She knew that things would turn for the worse if she continued talking.
Once they got home, Aurora changed her clothes before washing her face in the bathroom. When she came out,
Ian was already on the couch with his phone in one hand. However, he wasn’t calling Cindy, nor was he texting her
—he was playing an online mobile game! Aurora felt the urge to sneer at him. She could tell that Ian was trying his
best to act calm.
His girlfriend’s out playing badminton with another guy. No boyfriend would be able to tolerate such a thing!
Honestly, it would be perfectly normal for Ian to express his emotions in such a situation. I have no idea why he
insists on playing it cool, Aurora thought.
Ian lost both games that he played. His gaming teammates weren’t providing much help, and his skills were worse
than usual too. In the past, Ian had never cared much about winning or losing the games. Similar losses had
occurred in the past, and Ian had never been bothered by it.
However, he was extremely frustrated after losing two games today. He was so furious that he flung his phone onto
another couch before reaching for the television remote and turning the television on. After flicking through more
than 20 channels, Ian realized that there wasn’t a single thing he felt like watching. He angrily flung the remote
onto the ground. Even the simplest things in his daily life felt like a hassle right then.
Meanwhile, Aurora had already returned to her room. She kept her bedroom door ajar as she rested on her bed

could hear Ian throw his phone and smash the remote control onto the ground. The corner of her lips curled
upward as she fought the urge to smile. It was the first time she had ever seen Ian acting in such a way, and she
was genuinely amused.
After scrolling through her phone for a while, Aurora checked the time. She didn’t feel hungry since they had had
desserts in the café earlier. However, she got off the bed and left her room when she thought about preparing
dinner for Ian and Cindy. Aurora had intended to ask Ian what he wanted to eat for dinner, but she realized that he
was nowhere to be seen when she stepped out into the hall.
She thought that Ian had gone back to his room, so she went over to knock on his door. Yet, no response came
from inside. “Ian?” she called a few times. When she didn’t receive a response, she twisted the doorknob to let
herself into the room. She was greeted with an empty room.
That’s funny. I didn’t hear him opening or closing the door earlier. He must have intentionally silenced his
movements. Well, what’s the big deal? He probably just went out to meet his girlfriend. He doesn’t have to be so
secretive about it. After standing outside Ian’s room for a while, Aurora returned to her room. Neither Cindy nor Ian
were home, so she had no reason to cook.
