Chapter 1749 In the Room

Ian pursed his lips and stared at the front door for a moment. “She should be fine. It’s better this way, honestly.” At

least it’s better than her yelling at him in the hospital. At least she didn’t hit him back there. They hadn’t met for

decades, so of course she’s going to feel all melancholic after they meet.

Aurora took the elevator up herself. When Ian and Cindy reached their unit, she was already in her room, and the

door was closed.

Cindy hesitated for a moment, then she went to stand outside Aurora’s room and muttered, “What do you want for

lunch, Aurora? I’ll make them for you.”

Aurora didn’t ignore Cindy, surprisingly. “I don’t feel hungry, dear. Just cook whatever you like. Don’t worry about

me.”

Well, she sounds normal enough. I hope she’s fine. Cindy looked back at Ian, and Ian shook her head.

This is her fight and hers alone. We can’t interfere even if we want to.

Cindy heaved a sigh and went back to the bedroom with Ian.

Ian sat on the bed and took his phone out. It had vibrated a couple of times while he was on the way back, and he

knew someone must have texted him. There’s only one guy who would text me at this kind of time. He turned his

phone on, and as expected, the text came from Logan. ‘Hey, watch the news,’ Logan said.

Ah, so the news about Leah made it to the Internet. Ian was not interested in that. After all, he was the one who

provided all the details, so he knew what it was about. The media might have embellished it to sway the court of

public opinion to one side, but that was about it.

He put his phone aside and went to the restroom to wash his face. When he came back, he changed right in front

of Cindy.

Shocked, Cindy turned around and looked outside the window. She thought of the dream she had the night before,

and she remembered seeing every single inch of Ian’s body in it. However, a dream was still a dream, so no matter

how realistic it seemed, it was still different from real life.

Ian didn’t think that much. His mind was occupied by the events that were taking place in the hospital. I wonder

how Leah is going to make a mess out of this. The old man didn’t look too good, so if she annoys him, he might get

angry.

That woman used to be afraid of the old man. I wonder if she’s going to see this adventure through and go against

him. He changed his clothes and sat on the edge of the bed.

Cindy looked at him from the corner of her eye, then she turned around. She was sitting on the other side of the

bed, and she asked, “So what’s the company’s plan? Now that the news is out, do we still need to stay here?”

Ian sighed. “It depends on the court of public opinion. Hannah texted me earlier though. She said it’s about time to

resume work, so she wants us to pick a day.” He was then reminded of something else, and he turned around to

face Cindy. “But I seem to recall someone saying she wants to quit her job. Do you remember who that girl is?”

Cindy paused for a moment, then she pounced on Ian and pretended she would throttle him. “Don’t even talk about

that! How dare you even bring that up?”

Ian lay down on the bed and held Cindy by her waist. “I remember that girl saying she’d tender her resignation to

Hannah once this whole ordeal is over.” He chuckled. “So, are you still going to do that?”

Cindy covered his mouth. “Shut up! Don’t talk about that!”

Ian kissed her palm. “Oh, don’t be shy, you.”

Then, he pinched the side of her waist, and she lost all her strength. Cindy leaned on him, and he turned around to

pin her down once more.

Ian kept kissing her cheek. “It’s fine if you want to quit. I know you love design, so pick up where you left off.”
