Simon was so focused on money that when he killed Leah, he was probably no longer aware of family ties.

Ian asked Sean about it sometime after that and learned that Simon was in serious debt. Leah could indeed help

him pay back the debt, but if she did, she wouldn't have much money left. One could only imagine the amount.

Simon must've been driven to insanity because of the money, so it wasn't a surprise that he would turn against

Leah.

Cindy was still a little bothered. "I wonder what Leah was thinking at the end. Maybe she was in despair, and she

regretted a lot of things."

If Leah still had some common sense, she might regret not putting more thought into Simon's habits. She was the

one who had more resources, and if she had put more effort into it, she might have raised Simon to be someone on

par with Sean.

awesome and much better than him. Any woman would pick you over him."

Cindy went along with him and agreed, a smile in her voice. Then, she turned serious as she said, "Yes, you're

better than him in my eyes. To me, you're better than everyone else."

Her words sounded sincere and genuine, and Ian felt happy about that. He went to his bed and lay down. "I've

caught up a lot with the progress over here, so I'll take leave in a few days to pick you up from your company."

Cindy couldn't help but chuckle. "Do you have to? It's okay. Everyone at work knows we're together. It's

unnecessary to show up on purpose."

That won't do. He was very concerned about this and couldn't just let it be. Even though Cindy didn't talk about it,
