As soon as | got to the kitchen door, | heard Jordan and Shannon's voices. They were about to cin.
| stopped in my tracks and subconsciously looked back at Theo.
He was very calm and took off his black suit jacket. He handed it toand said," It's getting cold now. Put on a
jacket."
Shannon and Jordan happened to walk in. When Shannon heard what he said, he asked with a grin, "Did we

My eyes lit up as | quickly said, "Hurry up and cinside."
Shannon opened the door and walked in while waving the bag in her hand. She let out an ambiguous smile. "I
really envy the relationship you and your husband share.’
| did not want to answer. After taking the bag from her hand, | asked, "What did you and Jordan talk about in the
yard?"
Shannon sighed, looking quite unhappy. " Would you believeif | told you that we talked about life?”
She seemed reluctant to say anything, so |
did not ask any more questions.
| recalled her askingto move in with her and said with sregret, "I really want to move in with you and
stay with you but it looks like it isn’t possible now. Jordan hates nannies, and | need to be in charge of his daily
meals."
She nodded. "It’s okay. Don't move in, then. | think it's more important to take care of m y man’s daily meals."
Later, | went to the bathroom to change my pads. When | walked out, Shannon said in a gossipy tone, "1 think
Theo moved in next door because he plans to fight a long war with you. | must say that | love this man’s way of
doing things."
| glanced mildly at her, not wanting to entertain her.
After that, we went downstairs. Not long after sitting in the living room, Shannon intended to leave.
Seeing that the sky was dark, | did not ask her to stay either.
Theo and Jordan were talking in the yard. Seeing that Shannon and | had cout, Jordan walked over and
asked Shannon," Are you going back now?"

| froze. "To see Shannon off, of course."
"Someone will see her off." Theo's long and slender figure stood in front ofHe looked atwith a deep and
dark gaze. “ Does your stomach still hurt?"
| pursed my lips and said mildly, "I feel much better now thanks to your ginger water."
There was a long silence after that. Unsure how long it had been, | was just about to ask Theo to go hwhen
he said, "It's warm during the day but cold at night in this season. Remember to put on more layers at night."
